If you use Telnet, you should consider switching to the Secure Shell (SSH) utilities instead. SSH allows you to connect securely to servers for the same purposes for which you use Telnet. SSH has been used on UNIX systems for a long time, but you can also use SSH for Windows.
With SSH, you get mutual authentication; both the client and server must prove their identities via a digital certificate. Passwords are protected by encryption. For more information, where to download the SSH software, and how to install and use it, see www.windowsecurity.com/articles/SSH_Using_Secure_Shell_for_Windows_.html
