Change Outlook's default views in order to find what you're looking for (2000/2002/2003)

Have you ever found yourself looking for one particular email? You know it's from your manager and that your co-managers were CC'ed in on the message, but that's all you can remember about the specifics. You have hundreds of emails from your manager, so how do you easily find this one? Use the Customize Current View command.

To use the Customize Current View command, open the folder you'd like to search in, and then right-click in the area of the column headers (where it says From, Subject, Received, etc.). Choose Customize Current View, and then click the Fields button. Choose CC from the Available Fields list box, click Add, and then click OK twice. The criteria of CC is added to the Sort By bar. Next, click on From in the Sort By bar. You can now view all of the messages from your manager in one place. There's also now a CC column, so you can glance through the items that meet that criteria to find the email you're looking for. This is just one example of how you can change a default view to locate items; there are really limitless combinations and possibilities.
