Add similar links quickly using a hyperlink base (Word 2000/2002/v. X/2003)

If you're creating numerous links to different pages of the same website, you can insert links quickly if you specify a hyperlink base for your document. First, you'll set the hyperlink base in the Properties dialog box, and then you'll create as many links to that hyperlink base as you'd like.

To set the hyperlink base:
  1. Select File | Properties from the menu bar.
  2. Click on the Summary tab in the Properties dialog box, if necessary.
  3. In the Hyperlink Base text box, type the URL, such as http://www.newhorizons.cz/, and click OK.
To create links to web pages connected to your hyperlink base:
  1. Select the word that you'd like to make a hyperlink.
  2. Click the Insert Hyperlink button on the Standard toolbar to open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box.
  3. In the Address list box, type /tips.asp,and click OK.
  4. Follow steps 1-3 again, using /areas.asp and /store.asp in the Address list box.
