Windows Firewall offers some challenges to IT professionals because it restricts traffic over often-used ports and conflicts with third-party firewalls. With a command prompt tool, you can view Windows Firewall settings in a single window—plus you can modify them.
To view
Windows Firewall settings via a command prompt:
- Select Start | Run, type cmd in the Open text box, and click OK.
- In the command prompt window, type netsh firewall show config
- Press [Enter].
If you want to modify Windows Firewall settings from the command prompt, type netsh firewall /? and press [Enter] for a list of available switches.
