Modifying a Joomla Front Page Blog Layout

In Joomla, a Front Page Blog layout displays Articles that have been set as Front Page in the Article Manager. You can also set the number of articles and their order, the number of columns to display, and the number of links to view other articles.

To do so:
  1. Log on to Joomla Administrator Panel.
  2. Go to Menu > Main Menu.
  3. Select the Menu Item with the star symbol (as default) or the one with Front Page as Type.
  4. Click Edit at the upper right corner of the page. This leads you to the Front Page Blog Layout settings page.
  5. Go to the Parameters (Basic) drop down box. You can set the number of articles to appear on the Front Page.
Leading – # of articles to display in full width.
Intro – # of articles to display after the Leading.
Columns – # of columns to display the Intro text.
Links – # of items to display as Links.
  6. Go to the Parameters (Advanced) drop down box. You can specify the order of the articles.
  7. Click Apply.
