Assign a shortcut key to your UserForm (Microsoft Excel 2003/2007)

Let’s set up a shortcut key alternative to quickly display the UserForm.

To assign a shortcut key:

  1. Press [Alt][F11] to switch to the workbook screen.
  2. Choose Tools | Macro | Macros from the menu bar.
  3. Find ShowControlForm on the macro list and select it if it’s not already highlighted.
  4. Click the Options button. The Shortcut Key area will show Ctrl + an empty box. Excel macro key combinations always begin with the [Ctrl] key.
  5. Press [Shift]P. This will assign [Ctrl][Shift]P (P for page numbering) as the macro shortcut key combination.
  6. Click OK, then Cancel to exit the Macro dialog box.
  7. Press [Ctrl][Shift]P. Your form should appear again.
Here’s a suggestion: In cell D1, type the reminder [Ctrl][Shift]P to Show Form. That way, if you forget your shortcut key sequence, you’ll have this gentle reminder.
