Your first instinct may be to check your Preferences settings. Sure enough, on the Documents panel, the Restore Last View Settings When Reopening Documents check box isn’t selected by default. Select this option and that resolves the problem on your computer, but what about if the document is viewed on other computers? They won’t have your preferences, so there’s no telling how your PDF will display.
I don’t know about you but I find it annoying when I open a PDF to anything other than the first page at 100 percent Single Page view. I’ll turn the pages and zoom in when I’m good and ready, thank you very much.
To define the initial view:
- Choose File > Properties.
- In the Document Properties dialog box, click Initial View.
- Select the options (shown in Figure 1) as you want, and then click OK.
