Manage projects by merging with the Book palette (QuarkXPress)

I've created several files in QuarkXPress, with each containing a batch of catalog pages. The first file contains pages 1 through 17, while the second file contains pages 18 through 36, and so on. I would like to merge all my files so that they create one catalog with pages flowing in numerical order for printing. Can you please help?

Having a lot of pages within one QuarkXPress project can make the file unwieldy. The best way to manage related files, such as a catalog, is to use the Book palette.

To build a book from your files:

  1. Choose File > New > Book to display the New Book dialog box.
  2. Name your book file and choose a location to save it.
  3. Click Create to open the Book palette.
To place all of your projects in the Book palette:
  1. Click the Add Chapter button at the top of the Book palette.
  2. Select the appropriate project (document in version 5) in the Add New Chapter dialog box and then click the Add button.
  3. Do this as many times as necessary to gather all the relevant information.
As you do, QuarkXPress adds information to each of the documents specifying it as a book. The first document that you add to the palette becomes the Master Chapter by default. It’s the basis from which all the other chapters are synchronized appropriately. As you add or delete chapters from the book, QuarkXPress’ Book feature keeps track of page numbering.
